About this statute

Printers must deliver specified copies of books published in Ghana within one month of the book coming off the press, and the recipient must give a written receipt. A person registering a book must submit a memorandum with specified book details to the officer in charge of the catalogue, as far as practicable. Memoranda registered in each quarter must be published in the Gazette after the quarter ends. A printer who breaks section 1(2) is liable to a fine of up to five pounds. A publisher or anyone employing a printer must supply required information or matter under section 1; otherwise they can be fined up to five pounds.
