Statute overview

About this statute

The person in charge of an arriving vessel, aircraft, or vehicle in Ghana must not let a passenger who boarded outside Ghana disembark until an immigration officer authorises it. People entering Ghana must use an authorised point, go to the nearest immigration office, show travel documents, and complete the prescribed forms. A person must not enter Ghana except through an approved place of entry. An immigration officer may allow certain non-citizens to enter Ghana if specified conditions are met, but must not allow a prohibited immigrant to enter. Certain non-citizens lawfully in Ghana may apply to the Director for a re-entry visa before leaving temporarily.
