I, AUSTIN DEASY, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 3 20 of the Diseases of Animals Act, 1966 (No. 6 of 1966), as adapted by the Agriculture and Fisheries (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1977 ( S.I. No. 31 of 1977 ), hereby order as follows: 1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Bovine Tuberculosis (Movement Control) Order, 1983. (2) This Order shall come into operation on the 30th day of June, 1983. 2. In this Order— "animal" means bovine animal; "the area" means the area comprised of the administrative county of Kerry; "authorised officer" means an authorised officer for the purposes of the Bovine Tuberculosis (Attestation of the State and General Provisions) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 256 of 1978 "the Minister" means the Minister for Agriculture. 3. A person shall not move an animal into the area (being part of the attested or disease-free area specified in Article 3 of the Bovine Tuberculosis (Attestation of the State and General Provisions) Order, 1978 ( S.I. No. 256 of 1978 )) save under and in accordance with a permit issued for the purposes of this Order. 4. An authorised officer may, in relation to cattle in the area or cattle being moved into the area, make such inquiries as may be reasonably necessary for the administration of this Order. 5. When an authorised officer makes a demand or inquiry pursuant to this Order he shall, if requested, produce his appointment for examination by the person concerned. 6. An officer of the Minister who for the time being stands authorised in that behalf in writing by the Minister may issue permits for the purposes of this Order and may attach to such permits any conditions (including conditions to be fulfilled after an animal to which the permit relates has been moved) which he considers appropriate. 7. The provisions of this Order are in addition to, and not in substitution for, the provisions of Articles 12 (4), 17 and 19 (1) of the Bovine Tuberculosis (Attestation of the State and General Provisions) Order, 1978 ( S.I.
