WHEREAS by the joint operation of section 6 of the Army Pensions Act, 1923 (No. 26 of 1923) and section 20 of the Army Pensions Act, 1932 (No. 24 of 1932) the Minister for Defence is empowered from time to time to make regulations for the medical examination and re-examination of persons who are or claim to be entitled to pensions under section 10 of the said Army Pensions Act, 1932 , and such regulations shall provide that unless and until the disablement has reached its final condition no final grant of any pension under the said section 10 shall be made to any person within two years after the first grant of such pension to such person. NOW I, Frank Aiken, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the joint operation of section 6 of the Army Pensions Act, 1923 (No. 26 of 1923), and section 20 of the Army Pensions Act, 1932 (No. 24 of 1932) and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling do hereby make the following regulations, that is to say :— 1. These regulations may be cited for all purposes as the Army Pensions (Medical Examination and Re-examination) Regulations 1933. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of these regulations in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas. 3. In these regulations the word " pension " means a pension under section 10 of the Army Pensions Act, 1932 (No. 24 of 1932). 4. The Minister for Defence may from time to time refer to the Army Pensions Board for medical examination a person to whom a pension has been granted, and the result of such examination shall be reported by the said Board to the said Minister in such form as he may from time to time prescribe. 5. Before examining a person under these regulations the Army Pensions Board shall consider any statement of claim made by such person. 6. Unless and until the disablement has reached its final condition no final grant of a pension shall be made to any person within two years after the first grant of such pension to such person. 7. Nothing in these regulations shall affect the operation of the Army Pensions (Medical Examination and Re-examination) Regulations, 1928. Given under my Seal of Office this 17th day of January, 1933.
