I, PETER BURKE, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving full effect to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures, amending and repealing Directives 67/548/EEC and 1999/45/EC, and amending Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, hereby make the following regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Chemicals Act 2008 (CLP Regulation) Regulations 2024. 2. Section 2 (1) of the Chemicals Act 2008 (No. 13 of 2008) is amended, in paragraph (c) of the definition of “chemical”, by the substitution of “mixture” for “preparation”.
