I, MICHAEL NOONAN, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsections (4) and (5) of section 25 of the Companies (Amendment) Act, 1986 (No. 25 of 1986), hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Companies (Amendment) Act, 1986 , (Commencement) Order, 1986. 2. Subject to paragraph 3 of this Order, the Companies (Amendment) Act, 1986 (No. 25 of 1986) ( other than section 7 (1) ( ) (ii)) shall come into operation on the 1st day of August, 1986. 3. Each provision of the Companies (Amendment) Act, 1986 (other than section 7 (1) ( ) (ii) and subsections (7) and (8) of section 8), shall apply as respects the matters specified in section 25 (5) ( ) of that Act for each financial year of a company beginning after the 31st day of December, 1986. The purpose of this Order is to bring into effect the Companies (Amendment) Act, 1986 , which provides for new requirements in relation to the preparation, publication and auditing of the accounts of public and private limited companies.
