I, JIM MITCHELL, Minister for Communications, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 6 (1) of the Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1926 (No. 45 of 1926), and section 3 of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1983 (No. 40 of 1983), and with the consent of the Minister for Finance, hereby make the following Regulations: 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Wireless Telegraphy (Business Radio Licence) (Amendment) Regulations, 1985. (2) The Wireless Telegraphy (Business Radio Licence) Regulations, 1949 to 1983, and these Regulations may be cited together as the Wireless Telegraphy (Business Radio Licence) Regulations, 1949 to 1985. (3) The Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of April, 1985. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations. 3. In these Regulations— "the Regulations of 1949" means the Wireless Telegraphy (Business Radio Licence) Regulations, 1949 ( S.I. No. 320 of 1949 "the Regulations of 1956" means the Wireless Telegraphy (Business Radio Licence) Regulations, 1956 ( S.I. No. 2 of 1956 "the Regulations of 1957" means the Wireless Telegraphy (Business Radio Licence) Regulations, 1957( S.I. No. 181 of 1957 "the Regulations of 1983" means the Wireless Telegraphy (Business Radio Licence) (Amendment) Regulations, 1983 ( S.I. No. 88 of 1983 ). 4. Paragraph (1) of Regulation 9 of the Regulations of 1949, inserted by Regulation 4 of the Regulations of 1956 and amended by Regulation 4 of the Regulations of 1983, is hereby amended by— ) the substitution of "thirteen pounds and fifty new pence" for "eleven pounds and fifty new pence" in both places where it occurs in subparagraph ( ) the substitution of "thirteen pounds and fifty new pence", "thirteen pounds and fifty new pence", and "forty six pounds" for "eleven pounds and fifty new pence", "eleven pounds and fifty new pence" and "forty pounds", respectively, in subparagraph ( ) the substitution of "sixty two pounds" and "thirteen pounds and fifty new pence" for "fifty four pounds" and "eleven pounds and fifty new pence", respectively, in subparagraph ( ) the substitution of "sixty two pounds", "thirteen pounds and fifty new pence" and "forty six pounds" for "fifty four pounds", "eleven pounds and fifty new pence" and "forty pounds", respectively, in subparagraph ( and the said paragraph (1), as so amended, is set out in the Table to this Regulation. (1) A fee shall be payable on the issue and on each renewal of a business radio licence and such fee shall be calculated on the following basis: ) system comprising base and mobile stations only or system comprising mobile stations only: a fixed sum of thirteen pounds and fifty new pence plus thirteen pounds and fifty new pence for each station, ) system comprising base, repeater and mobile stations or mobile and repeater stations: a fixed sum of thirteen pounds and fifty new pence plus thirteen pounds and fifty new pence for each base station and each mobile station plus forty six pounds in respect of each repeater station, ) system comprising two fixed stations only, that is to say, a fixed point-to-point system: a fixed sum of sixty two pounds plus thirteen pounds and fifty new pence for each station, ) system comprising two fixed stations with repeater stations, that is to say, a fixed-point-to-point system with repeater stations: a fixed sum of sixty two pounds plus thirteen pounds and fifty new pence for each fixed station plus forty six pounds in respect of each repeater station. 5. Regulation 7 of the Regulations of 1957, as amended by Regulation 5 of the Regulations of 1983, is hereby amended by— ) the substitution of "eight pounds" for "seven pounds" in both places where it occurs in paragraph ( ) the substitution of "eight pounds" for "seven pounds" in both places where it occurs and of "thirty one pounds" for "twenty seven pounds" in paragraph ( ) the substitution of "thirty nine pounds" and "eight pounds" for "thirty four pounds" and "seven pounds", respectively, in paragraph ( ); and ) the substitution of "thirty nine pounds", "eight pounds" and "thirty one pounds" for "thirty four pounds", "seven pounds" and "twenty seven pounds", respectively, in paragraph ( and the said Regulation 7, as so amended, is set out in the Table to this Regulation. 7. A fee shall be payable on the issue and renewal of a licence and such fee shall be calculated on the following basis: ) system comprising base and mobile stations only or system comprising mobile stations only: a fixed sum of eight pounds plus eight pounds for each station, ) system comprising base, repeater and mobile stations or mobile and repeater stations: a fixed sum of eight pounds plus eight pounds for each base station and each mobile station plus thirty one pounds in respect of each repeater station, ) system comprising two fixed stations only, that is to say, a fixed point-to-point system: a fixed sum of thirty nine pounds plus eight pounds for each station, ) system comprising two fixed stations with repeater stations, that is to say, a fixed-point-to-point system with repeater stations: a fixed sum of thirty-nine pounds plus eight pounds for each fixed station plus thirty one pounds in respect of each repeater station.
