I, AUSTIN DEASY, Minister for Agriculture, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 2 (2) and 19 (1) of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act, 1979 (No. 26 of 1979), hereby make the following regulations: 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Regulations, 1983. (2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of January, 1984. 2. The amount of levy payable under section 2 of the Bovine Diseases (Levies) Act, 1979 (No. 26 of 1979), shall be— ) as regards milk, 0.3 new pence per gallon, ) as regards animals slaughtered or exported live, £1.90 per animal. 3. The Bovine Diseases (Levies) Regulations, 1981 ( S.I. No. 101 of 1981 ), are hereby revoked. GIVEN under my Official Seal, this 21st day of December, 1983. AUSTIN DEASY, Minister for Agriculture. EXPLANATORY NOTE. These Regulations which come into effect from 1 January, 1984 provide for the payment of a levy on milk for processing and on bovine animals slaughtered or exported live.
