DUKES, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 6 (2) of the Value-Added Tax Act, 1972 (No. 22 of 1972), hereby make the following Order: 1. This Order may be cited as the Value-Added Tax (Exempted Activities) (No. 1) Order, 1985. 2. The First Schedule to the Value-Added Tax Act, 1972 , is hereby amended by the insertion after paragraph (xi) of the following paragraph: "(xia) services supplied to a person under arrangements which provide for the reimbursement of the person in respect of the supply by him of goods or services in accordance with a credit card, charge card or similar card scheme;". This Order concerns the arrangements whereby credit card companies reimburse traders for goods and services supplied to cardholders. It provides that such service shall be exempted activity for VAT purposes.
