AND WHEREAS the Council of the County of Westmeath has applied to the Minister for Justice, because of the rarity of the birds concerned, and the attraction they provide, to make an order prohibiting generally in the County of Westmeath the taking or destroying of the eggs of the following wild birds, that is to say :—of the Dunlin or Sealark, Grebe (all kinds), Harrier, Kingfisher, Merlin, Peregrine, Falcon, Phalarope, Redshank, Sandpiper (all kinds), Tern (all kinds). NOW, I, JAMES FITZGERALD-KENNEY, Minister for Justice, in exercise of the power conferred on me by Section 7 of the Wild Birds Protection Act, 1930 (No. 16 of 1930), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling do hereby, because of the rarity of the birds concerned and the attraction they provide, order as follows :— 1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Wild Birds (Westmeath) Order, 1931. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas. 3. Not person shall in any part of the County of Westmeath take or destroy the eggs of any of the following wild birds, that is to say :—of the Dunlin or Sea Lark, Grebe (all kinds), Harrier, Kingfisher, Merlin, Peregrine Falcon, Phalarope, Redshank, Sandpiper (all kinds), Tern (all kinds).
