S.I. No. 79/1931 - Betting Act, 1931 (Commencement) Order, 1931. STATUTORY RULES AND ORDERS. 1931. No. 79. BETTING ACT, 1931 (COMMENCEMENT) ORDER, 1931. WHEREAS it is enacted by subsection (2) of Section 38 of the Betting Act, 1931 (No. 27 of 1931), that the said Act shall come into operation on such day as the Minister for Finance shall by order appoint : NOW, EARNÁN DE BLAGHD, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the power conferred on him by subsection (2) of Section 38 of the Betting Act, 1931 (No. 27 of 1931), and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling hereby orders as follows :— 1. This Order may be cited for all purposes as the Betting Act, 1931 (Commencement) Order, 1931. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1923 (No. 46 of 1923), applies to the interpretation of this Order in like manner as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas. 3. The 15th day of December, 1931, is hereby appointed to be the day on which the Betting Act, 1931 (No. 27 of 1931), shall come into operation.
