I, MICHEÁL MARTIN, Minister for Foreign Affairs, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 4 of the Criminal Justice (Mutual Assistance) Act 2008 (No. 7 of 2008) (as adapted by the Foreign Affairs and Trade (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 382 of 2020 )), after consultation with the Minister for Justice, hereby order as follows: 1. This Order may be cited as the Criminal Justice (Mutual Assistance) Act 2008 (Designation of United Kingdom) Order 2024. 2. The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is designated for the purposes of mutual assistance between the State and that state under the Criminal Justice (Mutual Assistance) Act 2008 (No. 7 of 2008) in accordance with the relevant international instruments mentioned in the Schedule. 3. The Criminal Justice (Mutual Assistance) Act 2008 (Designation of United Kingdom) Order 2022 ( S.I. No. 44 of 2022 ) is revoked. Titles II, VIII and XI of Part 3 of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community, of the one part, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, of the other part, done at Brussels and London on 30 December 2020 European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters, done at Strasbourg on 20 April 1959 Additional Protocol to the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters, done at Strasbourg on 17 March 1978 United Nations Convention against Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, done at Vienna on 20 December 1988 Agreement between the Government of Ireland and the Government of the United Kingdom Concerning Mutual Assistance in Relation to Criminal Matters, done at Dublin on 26 November 1998 Protocol to the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict, done at The Hague on 26 March 1999 Articles 13, 14, 18, 19 and 20 of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organised Crime, done at New York on 15 November 2000 Second Additional Protocol to the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters, done at Strasbourg on 8 November 2001 Articles 46, 49, 50 and 54 to 57 of the United Nations Convention against Corruption, done at New York on 31 October 2003 GIVEN under my Official Seal, 7 November, 2024. This Order designates the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the purposes of mutual assistance between the State and that state under the Criminal Justice (Mutual Assistance) Act 2008 (No. 7 of 2008), in accordance with the relevant international instruments set out in the Schedule to the Order. It adds Title II of Part 3 of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community, of the one part, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, of the other part, done at Brussels and London on 30 December 2020 to the Schedule as appeared in S.I. No. 44 of 2022 and revokes that Order.
