AN ACT further to amend the Assam Contingency Fund Act, 1950. Whereas it is expedient to amend the Assam Contingency Preamble Fund Act, 1950, hereinafter called the principal Act. It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows :-- 1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam Contingency Short title Fund (Amendment) Act, 2000. and Com mencement. (2) It shall come into force at once and shall remain valid upto 31st March, 2001. 2. In the principal Act, in section 3, the following proviso Amendment of section 3 shall be added, namely :-- of Assam Act IX of 1950. "Provided that during the period of operation of the Assam Contingency Fund (Amendment) Act, 2000 a further sum of fifty crores of rupees shall be paid from and out of the Consolidated Fund of the State of Assam into the Contingency Fund." 3. (1) The Assam Contingency Fund Assam Ordi Repeal and (Amendment) Ordinance, 2000 is hereby nance No. Savings. repealed. 11 of 2000. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the Ordinance so repealed shall be deemed to have been done or taken under this Act as if this Act had commenced on the 11th August, 2000.
