Preamble Whereas it is expedient further to· amend the Assam Assam Act No .XXX Electricity Duty Act, 1964, hereinafter referred to as the ofl964 principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing ; It is hereby enacted in the Seventieth Year of the Republic of India as follows :- Short title, 1. ( 1) This Act may be called the Assam Electricity Duty extent and (Amendment) Act, 2019. commencement (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect Assam Act No. XXIV from the 20th day of October, 2018, the date on which of2018 the Assam Electricity Duty (Amendment) Act, 2018, came into force. Amendment of 2. In the principal Act, in section 3, in sub-section (I), after Section 3 clause (c), the following Explanation shall be inserted, namely :- "Explanation :- In case of electrical energy consumed by any person or any organization generating energy, the aggregate value of energy charges shall be determined at the rate per unit as may be notified by the Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) or the Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission (AERC), as the case may be, from time to time, for similar category of consumers."
