ASSAM ACT No.XIII OF 1963 THE AGRICULTURISTS’ LOANS (EXTENSION IO UNITED' KHASI-JAINTIA HILLS DISTRICT) ACT, 1963 (As passed by the Assembly) (Received the assent of the Governor on the 30th April 1963) [Published in the Assam Gazelle Extraordinary, dated the 2nd May 1953] An Act to extend the provisions of the Agriculturists’ Loans Act, 1884, to certain areas of the United Khasi-Jaintia Hills District. Preamble. WHEREAS the Agriculturists’ Loans Act, 1884, is Central Act not in force in the areas known as the Khasi States immediately before the commencement of the Consti­ tution of India, which now form part of the United Khasi-Jaintia Hills District, hereinafter called the “said areas” ; AND WHEREAS it is expedient to bring the said Act into force in the said areas : It is hereby enacted in the Fourteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows :— Short title, l. (l) This Act may be called the Agriculturists’ extent and Loans (Extension to United Khasi-Jaintia Hills Dis- me““ence‘ ^ t) Act- 1963. (2) It extends to the said areas. (3) It shall come into force at once. Application 2.
