(cid:9)(cid:9) 475 The Nagaland Land & Revenue Regulation Regulations (Amendments) Act, 2002. (Act No. 1 of 2002). Received the assent of the Governor of Nagaland on 27/03/2002 and published in the Nagaland Gazette Extraordinary dated: 15th ofApril, 2002. An -Act- Further to amend the Assam Land and Revenue Regulation, 1886 (Regulation No. 1 of 1886) It is hereby enacted in the fifty third year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1.(cid:9) Short title, Extent and commencement: (1) This Act may be called the Nagaland Land and Revenue Regulation (Amendment) Act, 2002. (2) It shall extend to the whole ofNagaland (3) It shall come into force from such date and in such areas as the State Government may direct by notification in the official Gazette. 2.(cid:9) Amendment of Section 162 of the Asssam Land and revenue Regulation, 1886: In Section 162, after sub-section (2), the following proviso shall be innsseerrtteedd::-- ""PPrroovviiddeedd that nothing contained in this chapter or in the rules made thereunder shall affect any transfer by way of a mortgage in favour of any notionalised banks, a cooperative society registered under the Assam Cooperative Societies Act 1949 or such other financing institution as may be approved by the State Government. Provided further that such nationalised banks, cooperative Societies or other financing institution shall not transfer any land to a person other than the indigenous inhabitant of Nagaland except with the previous sanction of the State Government or an authority appointed in this behalf'.
