AN ACT TO AMEND THE BIHAR SELF-SUPPORTING CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES ACT, 1996 [Bihar Act 2 of 1997) Preamble: - WHEREAS, with a view to accelerate growth of fishery in the State of Bihar and to enhance production, it is necessary to strengthen capacity building, WHEREAS, with a view to achieve the objective it is necessary to reorganize existing Co-operative Societies which are registered and operating at block level. BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Bihar in the Sixty one year of Republic of India as follows: 1. Short Title, Extent and Commencement.—(i) This Act may be called The Bihar Self-Supporting Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Act, 2010. (ii) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Bihar. (iii) It shall come into force on such day as the State Government may appoint by publication in official Gazette. 2.
