Statute overview

About this statute

This provision is the preamble to a regulation that amends the resident population registry rules. Registry formalities under this regulation are carried out in the national resident population register. Foreign residents registered in the population register must renew their habitual residence declaration within 60 days of renewing their residence permit; the registry office must update the record and notify the questore. Some groups of people are excluded from having their residence registration changed, and civil-status communications for non-residents must be sent within 10 days. If a person or family moved residence without filing the Article 13 declaration, the registry officer must notify the competent municipality. A person who says they come from abroad for registration purposes, if already registered, is recorded as coming from the already registered place of residence.
