Jersey Law 1/1965 INSULAR INSURANCE (AMENDMENT No. 11) (JERSEY) LAW, 1965. ____________ A LAW to amend the Insular Insurance (Jersey) Law, 1950, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the 29th day of JANUARY, 1965. ____________ ( Registered on the 5th day of February, 1965 ). ____________ STATES OF JERSEY. ____________ The 19th day of January, 1965. ____________ T HE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law: - ARTICLE 1 Immediately before Article 66 of the Insular Insurance (Jersey) Law, 1950, 1 as amended, (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”), there shall be inserted the following Article – “ARTICLE 65A POWER TO AMEND LAW The States may by regulations vary – (a) any of the rates of contribution or of the States’ supplement contained in Parts I, II, III, IV and V of the First Schedule to this Law; and (b) any of the rates of benefit or grant set out in Parts I and II of the Second Schedule to this Law.” ARTICLE 2 For the First and Second Schedules to the principal Law 2 there shall be substituted the Schedules so numbered set out in the Schedule to this Law. ARTICLE 3 (1) For the proviso to paragraph (3) of Article 20 of the principal Law 3 there shall be substituted the following proviso – “Provided that the total amount of the reduction under this paragraph of the weekly rate of a widowed mother’s allowance for any week shall not exceed the weekly rate of a widow’s pension or, in the case where the allowance, (apart from any increase in respect of any child or children other than the elder or eldest) is payable at a weekly rate less than the weekly rate of a widowed mother’s allowance, such smaller sum as may be prescribed.” (2) For sub-paragraph (b)(ii) of paragraph (2) of Article 25 of the principal Law 4 there shall be substituted the following sub-paragraph – “(ii) if they would both, but for this provision, be entitled for the same period to an increase under this Article at the weekly rate applicable to an only, elder or eldest child, as set out in the third column of the Second Schedule to this Law, in respect of different children, one of them shall be entitled to an increase at that rate and the other (subject to provision ( i ) hereof) to an increase at the weekly rate applicable to a child other than an only, elder or eldest child as set out in the fourth column of the said Second Schedule;”. ARTICLE 4 (1) This Law may be cited as the Insular Insurance (Amendment No. 11) (Jersey) Law, 1965, and this Law and the Insular Insurance (Jersey) Laws, 1950 to 1963, may be cited together as the Insular Insurance (Jersey) Laws, 1950 to 1965. (2) This Law shall come into force on such day or days as the States may by Act appoint.
