Jersey Law 1/1972 PARISH RATE (ADMINISTRATION) (AMENDMENT No 2) (JERSEY) LAW, 1971. ____________ A LAW to amend further the Parish Rate (Administration) (Jersey) Law, 1946, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the 22nd day of DECEMBER, 1971. ____________ ( Registered on the 28 th day of January , 1972). ____________ STATES OF JERSEY. ____________ The 5th day of October, 1971. ____________ T HE STATES , subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law – ARTICLE 1 After paragraph (2) of Article 2 of the Parish Rate (Administration) (Jersey) Law, 1946, 1 as amended, there shall be inserted the following paragraph – “(3) If the proceeds of the rate levied in any year are more than sufficient for the purposes to which they are applicable in that year under paragraph (2) of this Article the surplus or part thereof may, if the parish assembly so decides, be appropriated to a reserve fund which may be allowed to accumulate or used for such purposes as the parish assembly may at any time decide.” ARTICLE 2 This Law may be cited as the Parish Rate (Administration) (Amendment No. 2) (Jersey) Law, 1971, and this Law and the Parish Rate (Administration) (Jersey) Laws, 1946 and 1960 may be cited together as the Parish Rate (Administration) (Jersey) Laws, 1946 to 1971.
