Jersey Law 2/1952 INSULAR INSURANCE (AMENDMENT) (JERSEY) LAW, 1952. ____________ A LAW to amend the Insular Insurance (Jersey) Law, 1950, sanctioned by Order of His Majesty in Council of the 30th day of JANUARY 1952. ( Registered on the 23 rd day of February, 1952). ____________ STATES OF JERSEY. ____________ The 30th day of October, 1951. ____________ T HE STATES , subject to the sanction of His Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law: - ARTICLE 1 In paragraph (1) of Article 1 of the Insular Insurance (Jersey) Law, 1950, 1 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”), immediately after the definition of “prescribed”, there shall be inserted the following definition – “ ‘public funds’ includes funds of His Majesty’s Government in the United Kingdom ;”. ARTICLE 2 In paragraph (2) of Article 8 of the principal Law, 2 the words “or accident benefit” shall be deleted. ARTICLE 3 At the end of Article 43 of the principal Law 3 there shall be inserted the following paragraph – “(15) In this Article, the expression ‘claimant’ means a person claiming disablement benefit and includes, in relation to the review of an assessment or decision, a beneficiary affected by the assessment or decision.” ARTICLE 4 In sub-paragraph ( a ) of paragraph (2) of Article 64 of the principal Law, 4 the words “for the purposes only of retirement pension or widow’s benefit payable by virtue of his insurance” shall be deleted. ARTICLE 5 (1) At the end of sub-paragraph (1) of paragraph 3 of the Third Schedule to the principal Law 5 there shall be inserted the following proviso – “Provided that where the death of the relevant person has resulted from an accident, this sub-paragraph shall have effect as if for the said contribution conditions there were substituted the contribution condition set out in paragraph 2 of this Schedule.” (2) Article 63 of the principal Law 6 is hereby repealed. ARTICLE 6 This Law shall be deemed to have had effect as from the coming into force of the principal Law. ARTICLE 7 This Law may be cited as the Insular Insurance (Amendment) (Jersey) Law, 1952, and this Law and the principal Law may be cited together as the Insular Insurance (Jersey) Laws, 1950 and 1952.
