Jersey Law 3/1988 PUBLIC EMPLOYEES (RETIREMENT) (AMENDMENT No. 3) (JERSEY) LAW, 1988. A LAW to amend further the Public Employees (Retirement) (Jersey) Law, 1967, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the 18th day of DECEMBER, 1987. ____________ ( Registered on the 12th day of February, 1988. ) ____________ STATES OF JERSEY. ____________ The 10th day of November, 1987. ____________ T HE STATES , subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law – ARTICLE 1 (1) In paragraph (2) of Article 2 of the Public Employees (Retirement) (Jersey) Law, 1967 1 (hereinafter referred to as “the Law”) – (a) for sub-paragraph (d) there shall be substituted the following sub-paragraph – “(d) shall make proper provision for persons who cease to be contributory members before they become entitled to receive a pension or other benefit under the scheme;”; (b) after sub-paragraph (d) there shall be inserted the following sub-paragraph – “(da) may make provision for the setting up of a Committee of Management to manage the scheme;”. (2) In paragraph (2) of Article 3 of the Law, 2 after the words “Finance Committee” in both places where those words occur, there shall be inserted the words “or in the case where a Committee of Management has been set up, that Committee with the approval of the Finance and Economics Committee”. (3) In paragraph (3) of the said Article 3, after the words “the Committee” where those words first occur, there shall be inserted the words “or, in the case where a Committee of Management has been set up, by that Committee with the approval of the Committee,”. (4) For Article 4 of the Law, 3 there shall be substituted the following Article – “ARTICLE 4 Power to extend application of scheme The States may make Regulations empowering the Committee, on the application of an employer who satisfies the Committee that it is appropriate to do so, to admit persons in the employment of that employer to participate in a scheme on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the Regulations.” ARTICLE 2 This Law may be cited as the Public Employees (Retirement) (Amendment No. 3) (Jersey) Law, 1988.
