Jersey Law 3/1989 INTEREST ON DEBTS AND DAMAGES (AMENDMENT) (JERSEY) LAW, 1988 ____________ A LAW to amend the Interest on Debts and Damages (Jersey) Law, 1971, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the 21st day of DECEMBER, 1988. ____________ (Registered on the 14th day of February, 1989.) ____________ STATES OF JERSEY. ____________ The 26th day of July, 1988. ____________ T HE STATES , subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law – ARTICLE 1 In the long title to the Interest on Debts and Damages (Jersey) Law, 1971 1 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”) after the word “Court” there shall be inserted the words “and the Petty Debts Court”. ARTICLE 2 In Article 1 of the principal Law – (a) the Article shall be renumbered as paragraph (1) thereof; (b) the words “tried in the Royal Court” shall be deleted; (c) for the word “Article” in the proviso there shall be substituted the word “Law”; and (d) after paragraph (1) there shall be inserted the following paragraph – “(2) In paragraph (1) of this Article “the Court” means the Royal Court or the Petty Debts Court, as the case may be.”.
