Jersey Law 5/1966 ADOPTION (No. 2) (JERSEY) LAW, 1966. ____________ A LAW to amend the Law relating to the adoption of children, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the 31st day of JANUARY, 1966. ____________ ( Registered on the 25 th day of March , 1966). ____________ STATES OF JERSEY. ____________ The 12th day of October, 1965. ____________ T HE STATES , subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law : - ARTICLE 1 FURTHER PROVISION FOR REVOCATION OF ADOPTION ORDERS FOLLOWING LEGITIMATION (1) Where any person legitimated by virtue of Article 2 of the Legitimacy (Jersey) Law, 1963, 1 had been adopted by his father and mother before the coming into force of that Law, the Court may, on the application of any of the parties concerned, revoke the adoption order. (2) The revocation of an adoption order under this Article or under Article 21 of the Adoption (Jersey) Law, 1961, 2 shall not affect the operation of Article 15 of that Law 3 in relation to an intestacy which occurred, or a disposition which was made, before the revocation. ARTICLE 2 SHORT TITLE AND CONSTRUCTION (1) This Law may be cited as the Adoption (No. 2) (Jersey) Law, 1966, and shall be construed as one with the Adoption (Jersey) Law, 1961, and any reference in that Law to Article 21 thereof or to paragraph (1) of that Article shall be construed as including a reference to paragraph (1) of Article 1 of this Law. (2) Any reference to the Adoption (Jersey) Laws, 1961 to 1966, shall be construed as including a reference to this Law. A.D.
