Jersey Law 6/1995 MERCHANDISE MARKS (AMENDMENT No. 2) (JERSEY) LAW 1995 ____________ A LAW to amend further the Merchandise Marks (Jersey) Law 1958 sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the 24th day of NOVEMBER 1994 ____________ (Registered on the 20th day of January 1995) ____________ STATES OF JERSEY ____________ The 6th day of September 1994 ____________ T HE STATES , subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law – ARTICLE 1 In paragraph (4) of Article 5 of the Merchandise Marks (Jersey) Law 1958, as amended 1 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”), for the words “two hundred and fifty pounds” there shall be substituted the words “level 4 on the standard scale”. ARTICLE 2 In Article 7 of the principal Law for the words “one hundred pounds” there shall be substituted the words “level 3 on the standard scale 2 ”. ARTICLE 3 In both paragraphs (2) and (4) of Article 13 of the principal Law 3 for the words “one hundred pounds” there shall be substituted the words “level 3 on the standard scale 3 ”. ARTICLE 4 In paragraph (1) of Article 16 of the principal Law for the words “, in the case of a first offence to a fine not exceeding twenty pounds, and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine not exceeding one hundred pounds,” there shall be substituted the words “to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale, 3 ”.
