Jersey Law 7/1972 HIRE CARS (AMENDMENT) (JERSEY) LAW, 1972. ____________ A LAW to amend the Hire Cars (Jersey) Law, 1964, sanctioned by Order of the 1st day of MARCH, 1972, of the Counsellors of State on behalf of Her Majesty. ____________ ( Registered on the 7 th day of April , 1972). ____________ STATES OF JERSEY. ____________ The 30th day of November, 1971. ____________ T HE STATES , subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law: - ARTICLE 1 After Article 22 of the Hire Cars (Jersey) Law, 1964 1 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”) there shall be inserted the following Article – “ARTICLE 22A POWER OF STATES TO MAKE REGULATIONS The States may by Regulations amend any of the provisions of Articles 11 and 12 of, and the Schedule to, this Law.” ARTICLE 2 In Article 23 of the principal Law, 2 in the definition of “motor vehicle”, “road” and “tractor”, before the words “motor vehicle” there shall be inserted the words “ ‘motor cycle’,”. ARTICLE 3 In the first column of the Schedule to the principal Law 3 for the item beginning “A motor-bicycle” there shall be substituted the item “A motor cycle” and in the item beginning “A motor vehicle” the words “(other than a motor-bicycle)” shall be deleted. ARTICLE 4 This Law may be cited as the Hire Cars (Amendment) (Jersey) Law, 1972, and this Law and the principal Law may be cited together as the Hire Cars (Jersey) Laws, 1964 and 1972. E.J.M.
