Jersey Law 8/1950 CIVIL SERVICE ADMINISTRATION (SUPPLEMENTARY PROVISIONS) (JERSEY) LAW, 1950. ____________ A LAW to make further provision for certain matters connected with the Civil Service of the Island, sanctioned by Order of His Majesty in Council of the 24th day of MAY, 1950. ____________ (Registered on the 17th day of June, 1950). ____________ STATES OF JERSEY. ____________ The 23rd day of February, 1950. ____________ T HE STATES, subject to the sanction of His Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law: - ARTICLE 1 (1) In this Law “the principal Law” means the Civil Service Administration (Jersey) Law, 1948. 1 (2) This Law shall be construed as one with the principal Law. ARTICLE 2 Where, under any enactment, the States are empowered or required either to appoint or to approve the appointment of any person to an office under the States or any administration of the States, any recommendation to the States for the making of such appointment or the giving of such approval shall, notwithstanding anything in that or any other enactment, be made through the intermediary of the Civil Service Board. 2 ARTICLE 3 * * * * * * * 3 ARTICLE 4 It shall not be necessary for the persons mentioned in Article 1 of the “ Règlement sur la régie des impôts ”, confirmed by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the 5th day of February, 1845, 4 as amended 5 to be re-appointed annually and, accordingly, in the said Article 1 the words “ Chaque année ” shall be deleted. ARTICLE 5 Nothing in this Law or the principal Law shall apply in relation to – (a) the “ Juge d’Instruction ”; (b) the Judicial Greffier and his deputy; (c) the Greffier of the States and his deputy; (d) the “ Sergent de Justice” and his deputy; or (e) the Auditor of the public accounts of the States. ARTICLE 6 (1) This Law may be cited as the Civil Service Administration (Supplementary Provisions) (Jersey) Law, 1950, and this Law and the principal Law may be cited together as the Civil Service Administration (Jersey) Law, 1948 and 1950.
