( Registered on the 5th day of May, 1951 ). ____________ STATES OF JERSEY. ____________ The 6th day of February, 1951. ____________ T HE STATES , subject to the sanction of His Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law : - ARTICLE 1 (I) Immediately after paragraph (I) of Article 2 of the Motor Vehicle Races (Jersey) Law, 1946, 1 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”) there shall be inserted the following paragraph – “(IA) The Committee may, on the application of any persons and after consultation with the Tourism Committee, by order declare that any sea beach, or any part thereof, may be used for races with motor vehicles, and for the purposes of practices therefor, during the whole or part of any days specified in the order, [not exceeding seven days in any year.”] (2) In paragraph (5) of Article 2 of the principal Law, 2 immediately after the word “roads”, there shall be inserted the words “or sea beaches”. (3) At the end of sub-paragraph ( b ) of Article 4 of the principal Law 2 there shall be inserted the words “or sea beach”. ARTICLE 2 Immediately after Article 4 of the principal Law 2 there shall be inserted the following Article – “ARTICLE 4A SAVING Nothing in this Law shall be deemed to derogate from the powers of the Bailiff in matters of public entertainment and, save as provided by paragraph (5) of Article 2, nothing in this Law shall be deemed to affect any other law, whether customary or enacted.” ARTICLE 3 This Law may be cited as the Motor Vehicle Races (Amendment) (Jersey) Law, 1951, and this Law and the principal Law may be cited together as the Motor Vehicle Races (Jersey) Laws, 1946 and 1951.
