Jersey Law 14/1995 DISEASES OF ANIMALS (AMENDMENT No. 4) (JERSEY) LAW 1995 ____________ A LAW to amend further the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956, sanctioned by Order of Her Majesty in Council of the 8th day of FEBRUARY 1995 ____________ (Registered on the 21st day of April 1995) ____________ STATES OF JERSEY ____________ The 27th day of September 1994 ____________ T HE STATES, subject to the sanction of Her Most Excellent Majesty in Council, have adopted the following Law – ARTICLE 1 In paragraph (2) of Article 11 of the Diseases of Animals (Jersey) Law 1956, as amended 1 (hereinafter referred to as “the principal Law”), for the words “two hundred pounds” there shall be substituted the words “level 4 on the standard scale” 2 . ARTICLE 2 After Article 27 of the principal Law 3 there shall be inserted the following Article – “ARTICLE 27A POWER OF ENTRY (1) An inspector may at any time enter any land or building on or in which he has reasonable grounds for supposing that there are any hives, bees, combs, quilts or bee products for the purpose of exercising any power conferred on him by or under an order made under Article 27 of this Law. (2) For the purposes of this Article, ‘bees’ has the same meaning as in Article 27 of this Law.”. ARTICLE 3 In Article 30 of the principal 4 Law for all the words after “he shall be liable” up to and including the words “and in either case” there shall be substituted the words “to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale 5 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two months and”. ARTICLE 4 For Article 37 of the principal Law 6 there shall be substituted the following Article – “ARTICLE 37 PUNISHMENT FOR OFFENCES AGAINST THIS LAW If any person is guilty of an offence against this Law for which no special penalty is provided, he shall for every such offence be liable to a fine not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale 5 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month or to both such fine and such imprisonment.”.
