About this statute

These Rules may be cited as the Civil Procedure (Court-Annexed Mediation) Rules. Defines terms used in the Rules (interpretation/definitions for mediation-related terms). The Rules apply to any case and to any private settlement agreement presented before court for adoption, recognition and enforcement. A court implementing the Court-Annexed Mediation Programme must establish a Mediation Registry. When a case is referred to mediation the court must notify the parties and their advocates within seven days after screening; parties (or their advocates) must file a case summary within seven days of receipt; after filing a party must serve the mediator and other parties immediately. The court and mediator may proceed even if a party has not filed a case summary.
