About this statute
This Code may be cited as the Central Bank of Kenya Code of Conduct and Ethics. Defines "Commission" as the board of directors of the Central Bank of Kenya and defines "public officer" as an officer or employee to whom this Code applies under paragraph 3. Section 3 identifies who the Code applies to: the Central Bank of Kenya; state-corporation banks and financial institutions licensed under the Banking Act (Cap. 488); and members of their boards who direct and manage those institutions, excluding public service members overseen by the Public Service Commission. Public officers must comply with all requirements of the General Code of Conduct and Ethics set out in Part III of the Act. Must be patriotic and loyal to Kenya and at all times conduct himself in a manner that promotes the image and interests of the country.
