About this statute

These Regulations may be cited as the Civil Aviation (Airworthiness) Regulations, 2018 and shall come into operation on such date as the Cabinet Secretary may, by notice in the Gazette, appoint. This section provides definitions for terms used in the Regulations, including "acceptable", "Authority", "Act", and "aircraft". The provision applies to Kenyan registered aircraft wherever they are operated. The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority may require an applicant, upon acceptance of a type certificate and before issuing an airworthiness certificate, to comply with additional requirements. Work must conform to the specified design as approved by the State of Design, and the State of Design approves designs 'as suitable for a particular purpose.'
