Citation and application 1. These regulations may be cited as the George Town Market Regulations (1997 Revision) and apply to the George Town market. 2. Market hours 2. George Town market shall be open to the public between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.: Provided that the beef and turtle sections may open at varied hours. 3. Meat to be sold by avoirdupois weight 3. The sale of meat in the market shall be by avoirdupois weight. 4. Restrictions of sale of meat in neighbourhood of market 4. No butchers’ meat, namely beef, mutton, pork, goat or turtle shall be sold or exposed for sale outside the market at George Town within two miles radius thereof other than by establishments licensed under the Trade and Business Licensing Law (1996 Revision). 5. Fees payable on carcasses introduced 5. Mode of paying market rentals 6. Persons renting or leasing market premises or part thereof shall pay to the market master an annual rental of two dollars and forty cents per square foot of space occupied, payable in monthly instalments in advance. Such revenue shall be paid by the market master into the Government Treasury not later than two working days after receipt.
