These Regulations may be cited as the Airports (Straying Animals) Regulations (1997 Revision). 2. Definition 2. In these Regulations — “animal” means any animal of sufficient size to constitute a possible hazard to any aircraft which might collide with it. 3. Power to abate danger from animals on airports 3. (1) Where the presence of an animal within the area of an airport might, in the opinion of an authorised officer, constitute a possible hazard to aircraft, such officer may take any steps he considers desirable to abate such hazard including killing such animal or causing it to be killed by any ready and practical means available. (2) Upon the destruction of any animal under the powers conferred by this regulation, its carcass shall become the property of the Crown and may be disposed of as any authorised officer shall direct.
