THE CHILDREN LAW, 2003 THE DEFINITION OF INDEPENDENT VISITORS (CHILDREN) REGULATIONS, 2012 The Definition of Independent Visitors (Children) Regulations, 2012 2 The Definition of Independent Visitors (Children) Regulations, 2012 CAYMAN ISLANDS THE CHILDREN LAW, 2003 THE DEFINITION OF INDEPENDENT VISITORS (CHILDREN) REGULATIONS, 2012 The Governor in Cabinet, in exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 14(7) of Schedule 2 to the Children Law, 2003, hereby makes the following Regulations- 1. These Regulations may be cited as the Definition of Independent Visitors Citation (Children) Regulations, 2012. 2. A person appointed by the Department as an independent visitor under Independent visitors paragraph 14 of Schedule 2 to the Children Law, 2003 shall be regarded as independent of the Department where- (a) the person appointed is not an officer of the Department or a spouse of such person; or (b) the child who is to receive visits from the person appointed is accommodated by an organisation other than the Department, and the person appointed is not- (i) a member of that organisation; (ii) a patron or trustee of that organisation; (iii) an employee of that organisation, whether paid or not; or (iv) a spouse of any person specified in subparagraphs (i) to (iii).
