These Regulations may be cited as the Animals (Exportation, Importation, Citation Protection and Control) Regulations (1996 Revision). PART II-Export and Import of Animals 2. No live animal may be exported from the Islands save under licence issued Exportation of live by the C.A.V.O. after application made to him in writing and payment of the fee animals prescribed in the First Schedule. 3. The forms of licences for the import and export of live animals are Licence for importation prescribed in the Second Schedule. of live animals 4. (1) No fresh carcass, whether or not frozen or chilled, nor any cured or Importation of carcasses pickled carcass of any cattle, swine, sheep or any portion of such carcass, shall be imported into the Islands unless such carcass or portion thereof is imported- (a) directly from any of the countries specified in the Third Schedule; and (b) in accordance with such conditions as may be laid down by the C.A.V.O. (2) Subregulation (1) shall not apply to any thoroughly cooked boneless meat imported in hermetically sealed metal cans. (3) In this regulation- “thoroughly cooked meat” means meat that has been subjected to heat treatment and which has attained a temperature of not less than 170 degrees Fahrenheit at the central point for a period of not less than two hours. 5 Animals (Exportation, Importation, Protection and Control) Regulations (1996 Revision) PART III-Protection of Animals Close season 5. The period from 1st February to the of July inclusive in each year is hereby prescribed as a close season for the purposes of section 68 of the Law. Limitation on number of 6. The limit on the number of game birds which may be taken by one person on game birds which may any one day is - be taken (a) twelve White-Winged Doves, twelve White-Crowned Pigeons or any combination thereof: Provided that the number of such birds taken shall not exceed twelve; and (b) three Blue-Winged Teal. PART IV-Control of Animals Establishment of pounds 7. The places and persons set forth in Parts I and II of the Fourth Schedule are and poundkeepers established as pounds and appointed as poundkeepers respectively for the purposes of section 43. Fees for service of notice 8. The fees prescribed for the purposes of section 44 are as follows- of animals impounded Cattle and horses $3 per head Other animals $l per head. Fees for maintenance of 9. The daily maintenance fees for impounded animals for the purposes of impounded animals section 46 are- Cattle and horses $2 per head Other animals $1 per head. Poundkeepers 10. For the purposes of section 49, poundkeepers are entitled to retain fifty per remuneration cent of all fees collected by them under regulation 8 and the whole of all fees collected under regulation 5. Seizure fees 11. (1) For the purposes of section 51 the seizure fees are as follows- (a) for animals seized on an airfield listed in Part III of the Fourth Schedule under the authority or by direction of the Director of Civil Aviation- Cattle and horses $10 per head per day Other animals $2 per head per day; and 6 Animals (Exportation, Importation, Protection and Control) Regulations (1996 Revision) (b) for animals seized elsewhere than on such airfields- Cattle and horses $2 per head per day Other animals $1 per head per day. (2) Fees collected by or on behalf of the Director of Civil Aviation shall be accounted for to the Treasury. _________________________________________________________________ FIRST SCHEDULE FEES (Regulation 3) 1. For the issue of an export licence authorising $20 the export of a specified animal on one occasion 2. For the issue of an import licence authorising $50 the import of a specified animal on one occasion 3.
