Statute overview

About this statute

This is the preamble to a Luxembourg law on requisitions in case of armed conflict, serious international crisis, or disaster. The right of requisition may be exercised after the Government in council has found that Luxembourg is involved in an armed conflict, a serious international crisis, or a catastrophe has occurred. Certain public officials may exercise the right of requisition; in a catastrophe and emergency, the mayor of an affected or threatened commune may do so provisionally until the previously listed persons can act. The Government in Council coordinates requisition measures. Certain authorities or persons mentioned in article 2 may, in the circumstances set by articles 1 and 2, require persons, goods and services, and place labour, energy, raw materials, foodstuffs, goods, and other national resources under control and allocation.
