Statute overview

About this statute

This regulation sets conditions for the marketing, production, and certification of forage plant seeds. This regulation covers production for marketing and marketing within the Community of forage plant seeds, but it does not apply to seeds proven to be intended for export to third countries. This article defines “commercialisation” for seeds and sets out cases that do not count as commercialisation. This article defines several fodder plant species and seed categories, and sets conditions for base seed, certified seed, small CE packages, and official-controlled inspections. Certain forage seeds may be marketed only if they are officially certified as base seed or certified seed; some other forage seeds may also be marketed as commercial seed, and a grand-ducal regulation may tighten the rule from specified dates.
