Corporation to have office in Peninsular Malaysia 4 Laws of Malaysia Act 818 The Overseas Missionary Fellowship 5 (Incorporation) LAWS OF MALAYSIA Act 818 THE OVERSEAS MISSIONARY FELLOWSHIP (INCORPORATION) ACT 1957 An Act to incorporate the Overseas Missionary Fellowship. [1 July 1957] Short title 1. This Act may be cited as The Overseas Missionary Fellowship (Incorporation) Act 1957. Interpretation 2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires— “Corporation” means The Overseas Missionary Fellowship as incorporated under section 3; “holder of the office” means John Morris Rockness, George Percival Moore and George Alexander Williamson being respectively the Secretary, the Southern Field Superintendent and the Northern Field Superintendent, who were appointed to the office of “The Overseas Missionary Fellowship” and includes their successors in office. Incorporation of The Overseas Missionary Fellowship 3. (1) The holder of the office of the Corporation shall for all purposes be a body corporate by the name of “The Overseas Missionary Fellowship” and shall have perpetual succession. (2) The Corporation may sue and be sued in its name. 6 Laws of Malaysia Act 818 (3) The Corporation may— (a) enter into contracts; (b) acquire by purchase, gift, devise, bequest or otherwise; and hold movable and immovable property of every description and any interest in the property so acquired by the Corporation; and (c) sell, convey, transfer, assign, demise, lease, surrender, exchange, partition, charge, mortgage or otherwise dispose of or deal with any movable or immovable property so acquired by the Corporation. Common seal 4. (1) The Corporation shall have a common seal which may be broken, changed, altered and made anew as the Corporation thinks fit. (2) Until a seal is provided under this section, a stamp bearing the inscription “The Overseas Missionary Fellowship” may be used as the common seal of the Corporation. (3) All deeds, documents and other instruments requiring the seal of the Corporation shall be sealed with the seal of the Corporation in the presence of the Secretary of The Overseas Missionary Fellowship, who shall append his signature to the deeds, documents and other instruments and shall be countersigned by either of the Superintendents mentioned in subsection 3(1). (4) The signing shall be sufficient evidence that the seal was duly and properly affixed and that the seal is the lawful seal of the Corporation. Corporation to have office in Peninsular Malaysia 5. The Corporation shall have an office in Peninsular Malaysia the address of which shall be notified to the Minister for Health and Social Welfare, particulars of which shall be published in the Gazette.
