About this statute

This Order creates an inter-ministerial committee and sets out its organization and functioning. The Committee’s head office is in Kigali, and it may be moved elsewhere in Rwanda if necessary and approved by the Minister in charge of health. The Committee is supervised by the Office of the Prime Minister. The Committee’s mission is to prevent drug abuse and stop the illicit use of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and precursors. The Committee must carry out several responsibilities on drug control, including advising the Government, doing research, coordinating cooperation and training, working with competent authorities, and updating the national list of controlled substances.
