About this statute

The World Health Organization’s objective is to help all peoples reach the highest possible level of health. This article lists the Organization’s international health functions. All States may become members of the Organization. Members of the United Nations may become Members of the Organization if they sign or otherwise accept it in line with Chapter XIX and their own constitutional processes. Invited States may become Members by signing or otherwise accepting this Constitution, if they do so under Chapter XIX and their own constitutional processes before the first session of the Health Assembly.
