This article defines key terms used in the Convention. Parties must take appropriate measures and cooperate to protect human health and the environment from ozone-layer harm. The Parties must cooperate on ozone-layer research, monitoring, and data sharing. The Parties must encourage exchange of relevant scientific, technical, socio-economic, commercial, and legal information, and cooperate on technology and knowledge transfer. The Parties must send implementation information through the Secretariat to the Conference of the Parties.
