Statute overview

About this statute

The parties establish an International Solar Alliance (ISA) to help address major common challenges in scaling up solar energy. Members are expected to coordinate voluntarily, cooperate with stakeholders, share relevant solar-application information, and support a Secretariat database of assessments. This article sets out how ISA programmes are proposed, coordinated, endorsed, and overseen. The Parties establish an Assembly for the Agreement. The Assembly meets annually, may meet specially, and takes decisions on implementation and ISA functioning; members have one vote and different voting rules apply by issue type. The Parties must establish a Secretariat. The Secretariat supports the Parties’ collective work, and the Director General is selected by and responsible to the Assembly.
