Statute overview

About this statute

This article authorises the treaty for ratification and defines key terms used in the treaty. This provision says the treaty applies to certain measures involving the other party’s investors and covered investments, and it is not meant to cover acts or situations that ended before entry into force. This Law takes effect on the day it is published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Rwanda. Each Party must give investors and covered investments of the other Party treatment no less favorable than it gives to comparable investors or investments of any non-Party, for specified investment activities. Each Party must treat covered investments under customary international law, including fair and equitable treatment and full protection and security, and must also give non-discriminatory treatment for conflict-related losses.
