This text introduces the convention and says it may be cited as the Violence and Harassment Convention, 2019. Each Member must adopt laws and regulations defining and prohibiting violence and harassment in the world of work, including gender-based violence and harassment. This provision says the Convention applies to violence and harassment in the world of work, including several workplace-related places and situations. Members that ratify the Convention must respect, promote, and realize the right to a world of work free from violence and harassment, and adopt prevention and elimination measures in consultation with employers’ and workers’ organizations.
