About this statute

School health in each school establishment must be supervised by a physician, who also medically monitors students and teaching staff. The school doctor may access all rooms of school institutions that are under his control. The school doctor must carry out regular student health checks, inspect school buildings and equipment, supervise measures for contagious diseases, and oversee diet in boarding schools. School-hygiene doctors must report each year, or more often if needed, to the provincial hygiene service director about the sanitary situation of the school establishments they supervise. The school doctor must create and keep a confidential medical file for each pupil and may have to notify the school director or parents/guardians in specific situations.
