Statute overview

About this statute

The Arabic, English, French, Russian, and Spanish texts are all equally authentic. If a State party ratifies certain amendments, the amendment text in five languages is treated as referring to the equally authentic text created by this Protocol. States members of the International Civil Aviation Organization may become parties to the Protocol by signature or acceptance, and acceptance is made by depositing an instrument with the Government of the United States of America. This Protocol enters into force on the 30th day after 12 States have signed or accepted it without reservation, and after a related amendment Protocol has entered into force. If a State adheres to the Convention after the Protocol is in force, that adherence counts as acceptance of the Protocol.
