Under the Decree, the Fund principally provide for the maintenance, education, benefit or advancement of those persons who were wholly or substantially maintained by the three persons who died on 5th June, 1977. The affairs of the Fund are managed and administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three appointed by the President for a term of three years. In line with the current administration's aim to do away with the relics of the 1977 coup d'état, it is proposed to repeal the Decree. On the repeal of the Decree, the Fund shall stand dissolved, and all current payments shall be taken over and disbursed by the Agency for Social Protection and the assets and liabilities of the Board shall, vest into, and become assets and liabilities of the Government.
