[20th April 2021] Supplement to Official Gazette 411 NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION (REPEAL) ACT, 2021 (Act 18 of 2021) I assent Wavel Ramkalawan President 16th April, 2021 AN ACT to repeal the National Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation Act, 2014 (Act 6 of 2014). ENACTED by the President and the National Assembly. Short title 1. This Act may be cited as the National Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (Repeal) Act, 2021. 412 Supplement to Official Gazette [20th April 2021] Repeal of Act 6 of 2014 2.(1) The National Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation Act, 2014 (Act 6 of 2014) is hereby repealed and the National Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation established under section 3 of the Act shall stand dissolved. (2) On the repeal of the National Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation Act, 2014 — (a) the officers and other employees of that Institute and holding office as such immediately before such dissolution shall be deemed to be the employees of the Government appointed for the same terms of appointment on the same terms and conditions of employment until these are amended, varied or repealed in accordance with any scheme of service applicable to employees of the Government; and (b) the assets and liabilities of that Institute under the repealed Act shall vest into, and be deemed to be the assets and liabilities of, the Government. (3) Mention of the particular matters referred to in subsection (2) shall not be held to prejudice or affect the general application of section 31 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act (Cap 103) with regard to the effect of the repeal.
