This Act may be cited as the Public Health (Amendment) Act, 2021. iv Supplement to Official Gazette [27th January 2021] Amendment of section 26 of Act 13 of 2015 2. Section 26(1) of the Public Health Act, 2015 (hereinafter referred to as the “principal Act”) is amended — (a) in the chapeau, by repealing the words “introduction of infectious disease into Seychelles” and substituting therefor “introduction of infectious diseases into Seychelles or spread of infectious diseases within Seychelles”; (b) in paragraph (d), by deleting the word ''or'';(c) by inserting after paragraph (e), the following paragraph — “(f) the requirements of vaccination as preventive measures to combat, control, treat and prevent the spread of infectious diseases and authorising the use of such vaccines in emergency situation.”. Amendment of section 64 of Act 13 of 2015 3. Section 64 of the principal Act is amended by inserting after paragraph (n), the following paragraphs — “(na) the creation of offences and imposition of penalties not exceeding a fine of SCR50,000 or an imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years; (nb) the imposition of fixed penalty in respect of any such offence and authorise one or more public officers for such purpose; (nc) specify that the payment of fixed penalty may discharge the person of the liability from the prosecution for such offence;”.
